Eleanor is a humanitarian photographer who uses her lens to amplify social and cultural narratives, sharing stories of strength, resilience, and hope. A 15,000mile solo bicycle expedition across China and Central Asia laid the foundation for her later career in photojournalism. From 2008 to 2020, she was based in China, focusing primarily on the lives of ethnic minorities. That dedication led to total immersion: she learned the languages, understood the cultures, and built relationships that remain strong to this day. She continues this work among communities in the United States and Asia, while also covering other humaninterest and environmental stories. This year, she attended the New York Times Portfolio Review and began a twoyear mentorship with Ed Kashi and James Estrin. She is also a commercial architecture and interior photographer, and occasionally takes part in ultraendurance races.
Eleanor served as a judge for the 5th Mobile Photography Competition in 2018.
